Columbia partner Jarrett Coco will lead an interactive presentation at the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Annual Meeting in San Antonio on Monday, October 23. The title of the segment is “Choose Your Own Mobile Device Adventure,” based on the popular "Choose Your Adventure" book series.
The session will follow hypothetical cases involving a company’s use of mobile devices. The scenarios will begin in the pre-litigation stage and the audience will vote on critical decisions in the case regarding multiple issues involving discovery from mobile devices preservation, collection methods, device classification (personal vs. business), employee privacy, and management of departing employees.
Coco will join a panel of in-house counsel who have significant and varied experience with managing, collecting, and litigating data collected from mobile devices. The presenters will analyze the pros and cons of each decision and discuss how the audience’s choices would impact the case. They will also incorporate relevant case law, tips on best practices, and other helpful advice in the discussion.
Coco is a member of the firm’s electronic discovery division, Encompass. His legal practice focuses on e-discovery and litigation readiness, pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, commercial litigation, information governance, and records and document management.
ACC is a global bar association that supports in-house counsel who work for corporations, associations, and other organizations through information, education, networking, and advocacy.
