2026 E-Discovery Negotiation Training: Practical Cooperative Strategies
Hosted by: The Sedona Conference Institute
Charlotte partner Travis Bustamante will serve as a dialogue leader at a Nelson Mullins sponsored event, The Sedona Conference Institute’s (TSCI) 2026 E-Discovery Negotiation Training: Practical Cooperative Strategies. This hybrid event will be held virtually on January 21 and in-person in New York on February 4-5.
Alongside other dialogue leaders of diverse backgrounds with e-discovery experience, Bustamante will engage in a highly participatory format using new litigation hypotheticals, demonstrations, and mock negotiations and hearings to learn cooperative, cost-effective approaches to managing electronically stored information in line with Rule 1 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and ethical obligations. Under the guidance of the dialogue leaders, attendees, including Nelson Mullins associates Shannon Coy and Michelle Campbell, will participate in multiple mock Rule 26(f) and Rule 16(b) conferences and receive detailed feedback from seasoned trial lawyers, eDiscovery professionals, and judges.
Bustamante is a member of Encompass. His litigation practice focuses on electronic discovery, data breach response efforts, and helping companies respond to government investigations and inquiries. He works with clients in state and federal courts on issues of discovery strategy and provides counsel regarding information governance, fact investigations, document review strategies, discovery motions practice, and document productions.
TSCI’s 2026 E-Discovery Negotiation Training: Practical Cooperative Strategies will bring together leading jurists, in-house counsel, outside counsel, and e-discovery experts in a highly engaging format. The institute promises, “a revamped program that reflects (1) the evolving landscape of pretrial litigation and (2) the profound impact of technological innovation, most notably AI, on the practice of law.”
