Colin Duncan, a discovery collections specialist for Nelson Mullins Encompass, has achieved his certifications as a Cellebrite Certified Operator (CCO) and Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyzer (CCPA). Duncan, who came to Encompass from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, has done more than 300 smartphone and tablet extractions using this tool.
Cellebrite is an industry leader in mobile device extractions and analysis. The CCO Course is a two-day intermediate level certification program exploring ways to extract data from mobile devices in a forensically sound manner. The CCPA course is a three-day advanced level program designed for technically savvy investigators, digital evidence analysts, and forensic practitioners.
Duncan handles both remote and on-site collections from various types of data repositories. He has nearly six years of experience in the field of digital forensics and data acquisitions. For 11 years, he was a special agent with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, where he worked in the Computer Crime Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the Executive Protection Unit for former Governor Nikki Haley and her family.
